Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) – Lead the Team. Drive Outcomes. Change Lives.
Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It):
* Lead the day-to-day operations of the rehab department across assigned facility/facilities
* Deliver and coordinate both direct patient care and behind-the-scenes clinical excellence
* Build, mentor, and manage a rockstar rehab team (PT, OT, SLP, assistants, aides, and students)
* Turn great ideas into new therapy programs that actually improve outcomes
* Be the go-to expert for clinical quality, compliance, and operational success
What You'll Be Doing (aka Wearing Many Hats Well):
* Supervise, coach, and develop all rehab staff—help them grow and succeed
* Manage scheduling so coverage meets patient needs (and no one loses their mind)
* Maintain a caseload while leading—yes, you'll still get hands-on
* Ensure residents receive the right care at the right time
* Keep documentation accurate, timely, and audit-ready
* Monitor department productivity, outcomes, and overall performance
* Handle billing, denials, and compliance like a pro
* Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance input
* Approve timecards and keep the department running smoothly
* Collaborate with nursing, leadership, and referral sources
* Attend meetings and contribute ideas that actually move things forward
* Keep safety top of mind (good body mechanics = happy team)
* Identify growth opportunities and help expand services
What You Bring:
* Licensed PT, OT, or SLP (required)
* Bachelor's degree minimum (Master's or Doctorate preferred)
* Leadership experience in rehab, preferably in skilled nursing
* Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid, documentation, and compliance
* Comfort using systems like Net Health & PointClickCare
* Ability to juggle clinical care + leadership without dropping the ball
Skills That Make You Shine:
* Problem-solving like a boss
* Clear communicator with staff, families, and providers
* Organized, detail-oriented, and cool under pressure
* Able to interpret policies, data, and real-world situations
* Comfortable with numbers (productivity, percentages, outcomes—you get it)
Must-Haves:
* Active therapy license in good standing
* Ongoing continuing education
* Willingness to travel as needed
Physical Reality Check:
This role is active—you'll be on your feet, assisting residents, lifting (sometimes over 50 lbs), and moving throughout the facility.
It's hands-on leadership, not a desk job.
Why You'll Love It Here:
* You get to lead change and see real patient progress
* You'll build and shape programs—not just follow them
* Work with a collaborative interdisciplinary team
* Make a meaningful impact every single day
* Be part of a culture that values growth, quality, and compassion
Bonus Points If You:
* Thrive in fast-paced environments
* Can balance spreadsheets and bedside manner
* Bri...
