Position Overview

The Activities Assistant supports the Activity Director in creating and leading a dynamic, engaging activities program that enhances the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our residents.

This role plays a key part in making each day meaningful and enjoyable for those in our care.

What You'll Do


* Assist in planning and leading individual, small group, and large group activities


* Help develop and maintain the monthly activity calendar and attendance records


* Encourage resident participation in hobbies, crafts, reading, and social events


* Support in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound or isolated


* Assist with resident outings and transportation coordination


* Maintain positive communication with residents, families, staff, and community partners


* Participate in care planning, assessments, and discharge planning


* Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming activity space


* Support documentation including progress notes and activity records


* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives as directed

What We're Looking For


* High school diploma or equivalent


* Preferred: 1 year of experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting


* Creative, patient, and compassionate personality


* Strong communication and teamwork skills


* Ability to engage and motivate residents of varying abilities
