Dietary Cook

Position Overview
Mission Valley Post Acute is looking for a dependable and motivated Dietary Cook to join our team on a full-time basis.

In this role, you will prepare nutritious, flavorful meals that meet residents' dietary needs while supporting their overall health and satisfaction.

Your work will directly contribute to a positive dining experience and quality of care.

Key Responsibilities


* Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and specific dietary guidelines


* Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards


* Adjust meals to meet special dietary needs, including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets


* Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times


* Assist with monitoring inventory and notifying leadership of supply needs


* Store and label food properly to ensure freshness and regulatory compliance


* Work collaboratively with dietary staff and clinical team to meet residents' nutritional needs


* Support meal service and ensure proper portion control

Qualifications


* Prior cooking experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or food service preferred


* Familiarity with therapeutic and modified diets is a plus


* Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)


* Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices


* Ability to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment


* Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality


* Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Schedule


* Full-time position


* Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
