Veterans Services Manager

Riverside County Veterans' Services is seeking a qualified Veterans Services Manager located in Riverside.

The Veterans Services Manager will lead and oversee the operations of our Veterans Services regional offices and branch locations.

This role involves auditing daily work, providing training, assisting in case management, and ensuring staff stay on track with their caseloads.

As a supervisor, the incumbent will foster leadership and team building while delivering management oversight and supervision.

Key responsibilities include performing complex veterans' claims work, counseling and assisting veterans and their families in obtaining benefits, and presenting and preparing legal evidence.

The Veterans Services Manager will also review, evaluate, and enhance methods and procedures to standardize services across all operations, ensuring optimal support for our veteran community.

The most competitive candidates will possess in-depth knowledge of the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CDVA) and federal VA claims processes, ensuring accurate and efficient support for veterans and their families.

Additionally, they will have expertise in data analytics, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets to improve service delivery.

Strong communication skills are essential, as candidates must effectively present findings and insights to stakeholders, ensuring data-driven decisions enhance the overall operations of Veterans Services.

This class has been designated At-Will by the Board of Supervisors, in accordance with the provisions provided under Article 6, Section 601E (8) of the County Management Resolution and serves at the pleasure of the Director of Veterans Services.

This class has been deemed eligible for the Performance Recognition Plan as set forth under Article 3, Section 311 of the County Management Resolution.

Program eligibility requires employees to be in a leadership position, manage other employees or programs, and have significant influence on the achievement of organizational objectives.
