Dietary Cook

Job Title: Dietary Cook (Full-Time)
Location: Mission Valley Post Acute
Pay Range: $18-$20 per hour

Position Summary:
Mission Valley Post Acute is seeking a dedicated and reliable Dietary Cook to join our team full-time.

The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals for residents in accordance with dietary guidelines, physician orders, and facility standards.

This role plays a vital part in supporting resident health, satisfaction, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:


* Prepare and cook meals following planned menus and dietary requirements


* Ensure food is prepared in accordance with sanitation and safety regulations


* Modify meals to accommodate special diets (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, texture-modified)


* Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment


* Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed


* Properly store food and label items to ensure freshness and compliance


* Collaborate with dietary staff and healthcare team to meet resident needs


* Assist with meal service and portion control as required

Qualifications:


* Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or food service setting preferred


* Knowledge of dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets is a plus


* Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)


* Strong attention to detail and food safety practices


* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment


* Reliable attendance and punctuality


* Team-oriented with good communication skills

Schedule:


* Full-time position


* Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
