Wellness Specialist - SUD, Residential

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Recreation Therapy Supervisor, responsible for providing patients who have a substance abuse and or dependence diagnosis or other co-occurring diagnosis a safe holistic, organized yoga, reiki, and exercise program.

Essential Job Functions:


* Lead patients through organized group yoga and exercises classes and/or reiki services.


* Instructs patients on safe, effective exercise to promote well-being and healthy lifestyle.


* Visually assess patients to determine their level of ability.


* Assist patients to achieve precise alignment.


* Demonstrate practice and techniques.


* Transform energy during the warm-up, build-up, and cool-down stages.


* Motivate patients with words of encouragement.


* Connect with patients during yoga classes through fun, intelligent sequencing.


* Utilize pool facilities to provide organized water aerobics.

Knowledge, Education, & Experience:


* Bachelor's degree in related field, preferred.


* Current Yoga or Exercise Instructor certification preferred.


* Certification in Reiki, preferred.


* Demonstrates familiarity and experience with yoga and exercise techniques.


* Has knowledge of, and experience in, the facilitation of group exercise programs.

Employment Status: Full time

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm

Work Location: Manor, TX

Compensation: Pay Range: $22-26 hourly
