Electronics Intern (Apodaca, Mty)

What will you do?

Take the Lead with These Responsibilities: As an Electronics/Mechatronics Intern, you will contribute to the backbone of technical support for the Surge Protection Devices (SPD) Engineering team.

Your day-to-day will involve:


* Rapid Prototyping: Building protoboard circuits and assisting in the design and assembly of PCB prototypes.


* Component Intelligence: Performing initial evaluations of datasheets, comparing similar electronic components, and presenting findings to help the team make informed selection decisions.


* Documentation & Data Management: Managing PDM documentation, migrating technical files, and maintaining engineering databases to ensure high data integrity.


* Project Coordination: Gathering data through cross-functional follow-ups and preparing visual presentations of sample explorations and teardowns.



*Location: MDIC (Apodaca): (PIIT) Apodaca 408 Ave Innovación Parque de Innovación e Investigación Tecnológico, Apodaca, 66628, Mexico.



*Hybrid scheme: 3 days on site, 2 days HO.

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?


* Foundational Electronics: A strong understanding of electronic components (resistors, capacitors, MOVs, etc.) and basic circuit theory.


* Hands-on Aptitude: Experience or high interest in PCB design software and laboratory "bench work" like soldering and breadboarding.


* Analytical Mindset: The ability to filter through technical information and organize complex data into clear, actionable formats.


* Proactive Communication: Comfort in reaching out to different departments to track down information and keep projects moving.

Who will you report to?

You will report to the Engineering Manager for SPD.

You will work within a collaborative, technical team environment in Monterrey, interacting with cross-functional stakeholders in quality, procurement, and manufacturing.

This is an individual contributor role designed to give you a 360-degree view of the engineering workflow.
