Senior Lead Software Engineer - Java

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology Data Protection & Recovery product line, you will be an essential member of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner.

Your role will involve promoting significant business impact through your skills and contributions, utilizing your deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to address a wide range of challenges across various technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities


* Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams


* Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others


* Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes


* Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus


* Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle


* Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience


* Strong familiarities with micro-service designs and proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle


* Advanced expertise in Java programming language


* Deep technical knowledge of utilizing frameworks to deliver applications, and being able to dive deep into code implementations


* Skilled in designing and developing applications with robust resiliency features, ensuring they can withstand and recover from failure, maintaining availability, and providing consistent performance under varying conditions.


* Proficient in integrating security measures within the software development lifecycle, including threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments.

Implementing best practices to safeguard our applications against potential security threats and breaches.


* Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability


* Proficient in one or more additional programming language(s)


* Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
