Sr. Accountant, Inventory

Job Description

The Sr.

Accountant, Inventory, is part of the Merchandise Accounting organization.

This position plays a key role in the SAP transformation activities related to the valuation, posting and accuracy of inventory, including movement throughout the Supply Chain and the migration of activities from a Mainframe environment to the SAP environment.

Responsibilities



* Actively participate in design sessions with selected implementation partner, core team and subject matter experts for all Direct Inventory transactions.


* Partner with subject matter experts to document existing processes and design go forward processes related to the conversion of Direct Inventory processes from the Mainframe environment into SAP.


* Collaborate with selected implementation partner, core team and subject matter experts to design, test and implement Average Costing in SAP.


* Actively engage in parallel processing and key scenario upon completion of Global Design.


* Identify key risks, efficiency opportunities and control weaknesses throughout project life cycle.


* Partner with internal and external auditors throughout transformation lifecycle, including updating SOX documentation.


* Explore available features within SAP that could potentially be applied to other Merchandising Inventory areas.


* Other key responsibilities as identified

Qualifications



* Bachelor's degree in Accounting


* Detailed understanding of inventory processes, including valuation, movement and general ledger postings.


* Minimum of 5 - 7 years related experience


* MBA and CPA preferred


* Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills


* Advanced excel and experience with SQL


* Strong procedure development and implementation skills, and demonstrated process improvement ability


* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.


* Ability to generate bold, creative ideas to improve processes and performance


* Excellent Communication and Organizational skills


* Ability to succeed in a team environment
