CLEANING ROOM GENERAL - 2nd shift

The Cleaning Room General role supports the finishing department.

In this position, you will be working directly with iron castings.

Castings enter the Cleaning Room on a conveyor.

You and your team members – under the direction of a Team Lead - will inspect each casting and use hand-held tools to remove excess metal and then move the casting it to the appropriate conveyor or palette sometimes using a hoist or a winch.

This is a physical position.

You and your team members will be on your feet the entire shift, taking instruction and direction from a Team Lead.

You will be working in a loud, warm, and dirty environment.

You must be able to stand for extended periods of time, have good hand-eye coordination and possess the ability to multi-task.

The position offers the opportunity for cross training and experience in a variety of tasks related to production.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

                        .          Practice high levels of safety at all times

·         Operate hoists to move castings over 50 lbs

·         Load line for chippers/grinders

·         Remove gating and risers with use of hammers or wedges

·         Follow process sheets and work lists

·         Sort castings into boxes or onto pallets

·         Inspect and sort parts for defects

·         Maintain cleanliness of production area

·         Assembly of castings

·         Operate saw, pencil grinder, and basic hand tools as needed

Education/Experience Requirements:

·         Must be at least 18 years old to apply

·         No educational requirements

·         Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Shifts:

·         Must be available to work 10 hour shifts

·         Must be available for overtime as production needs require

·         Monday – Friday

·         Typical shift hours:

·         1 shift: 4:45 am – 3:00 pm

·         2 shift: 3:00 pm – 1:00 am

Pay rate:

·         Base pay rate of $24.26, 2 shift premium: $1.50, 3 shift premium: $1.00

·         Base rates increase $1.00/hour upon successful completion of probation (60 working days)
