Porter

Your day to day

As a Porter, you’re often the very first impression of the hotel.

You’ll welcome guests with warmth, assist with luggage, provide valet parking and offer directions or support as needed.

You help set the tone for the entire stay with professional, efficient and friendly service.


* Provide warm welcomes and sincere farewells to all guests.


* Assist with luggage and escort guests to their rooms.


* Support valet parking operations safely and efficiently.


* Maintain a clean and polished lobby environment.


* Recognise guest preferences and help action guest feedback promptly.


* Respond to requests quickly and professionally.


* Uphold IHG policies, WH&S standards and hotel procedures.

What we need from you


* Ability to safely lift, carry and move guest luggage (up to 23kg) in line with manual‑handling guidelines.


* Strong communication and customer service skills.


* Flexibility to work rostered shifts including nights/weekends.


* Confidence in guest interaction and a welcoming demeanor.


* Valid Tasmanian Driver’s Licence (or transferrable interstate/overseas).

Automatic-only is acceptable, manual preferred for full valet capability.


* RSA – valid in Tasmania (preferred).


* Based in Hobart.
