Production Supervisor - 1st Shift

Supervises and coordinates the activities of workers within the department engaged in operating a variety of machines to manufacture parts or products.

Job Duties:


* Directly supervises employees.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


* Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs.


* Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.


* Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.


* Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.


* Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.


* Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.


* Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

Requirements:


* Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred;


* Four (4) years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


* Practical knowledge of aircraft components, machining, welding, inspection and related disciplines.


* Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt preferred


* Position must be able to obtain a Repairman Certificate within 2-4 months of employment or have the credentials i.e.

A&P license so they are able to supervise any maintenance activity


* Must be fluent in English, i.e.

speaking, reading, writing
