Director of Nursing (DON) - Antelope Valley Care Center

Antelope Valley Care Center, a respected skilled nursing facility in Lancaster, CA, is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department.

We are looking for a strong leader who can inspire, mentor, and hold staff accountable while maintaining a culture of compassion and excellence in resident care.

Key Responsibilities:


* Provide confident leadership, discipline, education, and training for the nursing team



* Maintain strong interpersonal relationships with staff, residents, families, and external agencies



* Communicate effectively with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations



* Be hands-on and visible on the floor, leading by example



* Ensure thorough and accurate documentation in PointClickCare (PCC)



* Oversee survey preparation, execution, and corrective action plans



* Mentor and develop staff for professional growth and retention



* Resolve conflicts and foster a positive work culture



* Drive improvements in quality measures and maintain high standards of care



* Manage budgets, staffing, and scheduling for nursing services



* Analyze data and implement performance improvement initiatives



* Collaborate with department heads to achieve facility-wide goals

Qualifications:


* Current, unencumbered RN license in California



* Minimum 3 years of Director of Nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility



* In-depth knowledge of SNF state and federal regulations



* Proven success in leading nursing teams and improving facility performance



* Proficiency in PointClickCare (PCC)



* Exceptional organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills



* Ability to make sound decisions under pressure



* Compassionate, resident-focused approach to leadership
