Molding Design Engineer

Your Job

Our Lincoln Nebraska site is looking for an experienced Molding Design Engineer to join their team.

The purpose of this role is to maintain and update all controlled mold tooling models and prints.

Design improvements to existing molds to reduce costs, improve quality, performance and delivery.

What You Will Do


* Update mold designs to incorporate improvements completed to the mold that improves overall quality, run ability or cycle time reduction.


* Participate in mold design reviews and provide feedback to Mold design groups.


* Update and transfer any older CAD designs to latest software.


* Assist tool room personnel with any design updates to repair existing mold tooling.


* Support product revisions to existing mold tooling.


* Assist in the development of SOP's and setup charts for improved mold tooling maintenance and mold changeover time.


* Standardize inserts where possible.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Associate/Technical degree in related field or equal tooling experience.


* 3 years minimum experience trouble shooting close tolerance tooling.


* Must have effective problem-solving abilities that include flash reduction, uptime improvements and insert breakage elimination.


* Excellent communication/presentation skills, to effectively communicate desired improvement to the design centers.


* Due to fast paced manufacturing environment, Designer must have excellent organizational, decision making skills and be able to handle multiple competing priorities.

What Will Put You Ahead


* 4 year Engineering degree


* 5 years CAD design experience including 3D modeling


* 5 years experience trouble shooting close tolerance multiple cavity molds.


* Experience with NX and CoCreate
