Job Description:

Job Family Definition:

Applying deep technical expertise to protect networking products such as routers, switches and firewalls through vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, and secure design.

This role leverages knowledge of Linux and FreeBSD kernel, low-level programming, and offensive security techniques to identify and remediate risks in embedded systems.

Collaborate across teams to integrate security into development lifecycles, adapt to emerging threats, and share knowledge to advance best practices, ensuring the integrity and resilience of products that power the digital world.

Management Level Definition:

Contributes to assignments of limited scope by applying technical concepts and theoretical knowledge acquired through specialized training, education, or previous experience.

Acts as a team member by providing information, analysis and recommendations in support of team efforts.

Exercises independent judgment within defined parameters.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct penetration testing for both hardware and software systems.

• Design and develop secure reference architectures.

• Implement and promote secure coding practices for software and firmware.

• Perform original security research to identify emerging threats and solutions.

• Champion the adoption of security engineering principles across the organization.

Education & Experience Required:

• Be enrolled in a Master's, or PhD program, preferably in Computer Science/Computer Engineering with specialization in Cybersecurity, graduating December 2026 or later.

• Programming experience in the following but not limited to: C/C++, Java, Python, Go, Rust

• Strong knowledge of Linux and FreeBSD kernel, hypervisor design, virtualization and architecture

• A genuine passion for building effective and pragmatic security

Knowledge and Skills:

• Proven track record of finding zero days/CVEs

• Cybersecurity-related certification

• Strong scripting skills in one or more of the common languages (e.g., Python, shell scripting)
