What’s the job? 

Reporting to the Group Head Chef for our restaurants and bars, you will oversee the full kitchen operation, ensuring high culinary standards and a smooth, efficient workflow.

You will uphold IHG policies and Crowne Plaza Melbourne standards while maintaining exceptional hygiene, presentation, and safety practices.

Your responsibilities include leading all kitchen and stewarding activities, supporting menu planning and new dish development, and assisting with costing, stock management, and special events.

You will guide and develop the kitchen team through recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management, fostering a culture that reflects IHG Winning Ways and the “Room to be Yourself” commitments.

You will also manage key operational controls such as food costs, inventory, rosters, and leave planning, ensuring both efficiency and work-life balance.

By promoting open communication, recognition, and team engagement—including community involvement—you will help drive continuous improvement and a positive, high-performing kitchen environment.

* A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent recognised qualification.
