Housekeeping Aide part time

Job Summary

Join our team as a Housekeeper and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

This position involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks in public areas, common spaces, and resident rooms while adhering to all safety and sanitation standards.

We are looking for an individual with excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage their time effectively either independently or as part of a team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


* General Area Maintenance: Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day, including the lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.


* Resident Room Care: Ensure the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms.


* Surface Cleaning: Clean and remove dust, dirt, or food from various surfaces including walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and towel dispensers.

Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris.


* Waste Management: Empty trash cans and replace liners.


* Floor Care: Perform sweeping and mopping of floors.


* Safety & Compliance:
+ Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping all supplies and chemicals out of reach of residents.
+ Use supplies and equipment in a safe manner by following the user manual instructions.
+ Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean, and orderly manner.


* Reporting & Inventory:
+ Notify the Director of Housekeeping immediately when supplies need replenishing.
+ Promptly notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing regarding any resident safety issues or concerns.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience


* Minimum Requirement: A High School Diploma or a GED is required to perform the essential functions of this position.


* Preferred Experience: Experience working in a long-term care facility is preferred.

* Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.


* Excellent time management skills.


* Ability to work independently or with a team.


* Language Skills: Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions.

Fluent in written and spoken English.


* Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.


* Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
