POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Advanced Clinical Research group leads the design and development of J&J MedTech Heart Recovery’s early clinical studies.

We are seeking a co-op student to support the development and research of clinical databases for several upcoming studies.

The primary objective of this role is to structure data to enable synthesis of mechanistic measurements (such as hemodynamics) with clinical outcomes, thereby informing the design of future trials.

Depending on time, skills, and interest, the candidate may also explore adjacent technologies and assess how they can help us understand outcomes in Impella patients.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


* Assist in data structuring, cleaning, and curation of clinical databases for multiple studies


* Collaborate with clinicians and research to identify key data elements and outcomes


* Work closely with scientific lead to perform analysis to support future clinical trials


* Conduct independent analyses using large datasets


* Conduct background research on prior studies and how they might help inform future clinical trials


* Research adjacent device technologies and how to leverage them in future trials.

REQUIREMENTS


* Proficient with writing database design and queries (e.g.

MySQL, Postgres, etc.)


* Familiarity with basic statistical analysis and coding tools (Python, R)


* Experience working with API’s


* Self-motivated, execute tasks with attention to detail in a timely manner
