Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Sr Engineering Manager to be based in Irving, TX.

SECTION 1: JOB SUMMARY

Engineering Manager are accountable for planning and direct overall engineering activities, coordinate the creation, development, design and improvement of corporate products in conformance with established programs and objectives, provide engineering advice and assistance to other departments.

Provide effective management of subordinates to achieve desired results and utilize excellent communication, motivation, team building, employee involvement, diplomacy and delegating skills.

SECTION 2: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for planning, schedule, conduct and manage various engineering projects, ensuring all projects adhere to acceptable engineering practices and compliance regulations, are appropriately staffed, and are run within budget.

Duties & Responsibility include:


* Plan and direct overall engineering activities.


* Coordinate the creation, development, design and improvement of corporate products in conformance with established programs and objectives.


* Provide engineering advice and assistance to other departments.


* Provide effective management of subordinates to achieve desired results.


* Utilize excellent communication, motivation, team building, employee involvement, diplomacy and delegating skills.


* Coordinate cross functional teams to drive business and organizational results.


* Set business metrics for the team and provide performance feedback to employees.


* Assist with troubleshooting problems, discrepancies and investigations of nonconformance.  Develop standard operating procedures.


* Provide engineering expertise and maintain a high level of competency and business development acumen.


* Have Technical/Engineering (50%) responsibilities as well as Management/Leadership (50%) of a defined group of Technical Associates and will provide day-to-day tactical guidance to group.


* Coordinate continuous improvement, equipment reliability and productivity improvement activities in a matrix organization.
