Temporary Park Ranger I - San Jacinto
The Riverside County Human Resources' Temporary Assignment Program (TAP) is seeking a Temporary Park Ranger I to provide support in the San Jacinto River Bottom.
San Jacinto River Bottom
This position will patrol the San Jacinto River on foot or in a 4x4 vehicle, enforcing county ordinance by gaining willful compliance from patrons of the wildlife area.
The Ranger will report in Riverside and then disperse to the San Jacinto River.
Incumbent will e xplain park policies, rules, regulations, and County ordinances.
Participate in custodial duties and the maintenance and cleanup of park structures and grounds; work with park maintenance personnel on minor construction, maintenance, repair, and improvement of park structures, facilities, and grounds.
Answer public inquiries and complaints concerning park operations and maintenance.
Patrol park areas to promote an orderly and congenial atmosphere among park visitors, and to resolve problems; issue warnings and citations under appropriate laws or ordinances for non-compliance of park regulations.
Patrol open-space, wildlife habitat reserves, and conservation land to communicate and ensure compliance with park regulations, laws, and ordinances; work with maintenance personnel to maintain signs and access controls.
Plan and participate in habitat creation and restoration.
Monitor and participate in court referral/ work release programs.
Maintain records and prepare reports.
Work Schedule: 5/40 - Monday through Friday
Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
