Construction Coordinator- Electrical & Instrumentation

We are looking for a highly motivated and safety-focused candidate who works well with diverse groups of people to join us as a Construction Coordinator- Electrical & Instrumentation in our North Salt Lake Refinery.

Position Description:

An active Capital Projects team member providing construction coordination support both in the office and in the field.

Your involvement begins with early-stage constructability reviews and continues through schedule development, contractor selection, quality control/assurance, up to the final Transfer of Care, Custody and Control with the customer.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Responsible for working with the project engineering group to safely develop and execute overall capital project turnaround construction work as an integrated work effort to assure projects are completed within budget, scope, and schedule.

· Accountable for converting Engineering Work Package inputs into Construction Work Packages that can be successfully executed by a construction contractor.

· Accountable for the construction contracting process, including the development of Requests for Quote, Bid Tab Evaluations, and job walks with bidders.

· Accountable for the safe execution of capital project construction work as needed.

· Appropriately prioritize and schedule resources and equipment to meet company goals.

· Perform the technical and budget review and notice to proceed approval of construction work packages.

· Contractor management, including but not limited to tracking man-hours and productivity, change management, quality assurance and control, safety performance, and reporting.

· Responsible for the development of construction schedules and cost estimates in concert with the project lead.

· Responsible for progress status/reporting on construction schedules.

· Responsible for coordinating all BWO policy forms between Operations, Safety, Maintenance, and Environmental Departments and gathering the required signatures, including High Priority and Critical Lifts, Excavation Permits and Ground Disturbance Permits, Electrical Energize Work Permits, and Road Closures.

· Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure E/I projects are compatible with current standard E/I vendor usage and training needs are provided at project turnover.

· Participate in BWO standard processes, including MOC, leading & participating in incident investigations to closure, and completing PHA recommendations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

· 5-10 years’ experience working in a mechanical industrial field.

In an electrical and/or instrumentation capacity.

Refinery experience preferred.

· 3+ years coordinating contract work and monitoring progress in the field.

· 3+ years’ experience interfacing with multidisciplinary coordinators and contractors.
