Job Description
Job Title: Operations Supervisor
Job Summary:
We are looking for a results-driven Operations Supervisor to join our logistics team.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced operations professional with a strong background in data analytics, KPI tracking, and financial management to support and optimize cross-dock facilities across the Western U.S.
After the initial period, this position may transition to a permanently in-house role at a specific facility within the West Region, based on business needs and individual performance.
Job Responsibilities:
* Lead operational audits, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions across multiple locations.
* Develop, track, and report on key operational KPIs to drive efficiency, service levels, and cost control.
* Leverage data analytics to assist managers with making informed decisions, identify trends, and support strategic planning.
* Monitor labor, equipment, and freight costs; work closely with Service Center Managers and Directors to manage budgets and improve financial performance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to kick-start and stabilize new management employees and optimize performance of current employees.
* Train and develop local supervisors and staff to uphold company standards, safety practices, and productivity goals.
* Ensure compliance with all operational policies, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
After initial period of regional support:
* Supervise cross-dock operations including scheduling, inbound/outbound coordination, labor management, and dock flow.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
* Proven experience with data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms).
* Strong background in managing KPIs, operational reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Working knowledge of budgeting, labor cost management, and operational financial reporting.
* Ability to travel up to 60% in the first year (air and ground travel across Western U.S.).
* Excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills.
Job Requirements:
* U.S.
citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the position or being willing to self-relocate
* Individual must be organized, detail-oriented and have strong communication skills
* Previous dock operations or supervisory experience not required but preferred
* Bachelor's Degree not required but preferred
