Product Engineering Intern/Co-Op

Yaskawa America Inc Motion Division is seeking a product engineering student or recent graduate for an intern or co-op opportunity.

This is a full-time position, but can also work around final class schedule if necessary.

Are you looking to apply your recently acquired mechanical or mechatronic education to work in the exciting field of robotics? If so, we may have the right opportunity for you.

Requirements:


* BS in mechanical engineering or completing senior coursework.

A concentration in mechatronics and strong GPA is a plus.


* Coursework, project and/or real-world experience in computer aided design or 3D modeling


* Experience with a robotics team, engineering club or other educational opportunities are required; internship or project work in industrial motion control and servo system technology or related field a plus.


* Knowledge of programmable controls, digital communications, or microprocessors is desirable


* Familiarity with the usage of PC and major application software; CAD and programming environments of Visual Basic, C, Python, and Matlab


* Self-starter with good work ethic in learning and growing within the company.


* Ability to travel between headquarters office (Waukegan, IL) and production facility (Buffalo Grove, IL) ideal.

Activities:


* Learn and troubleshoot technical problems in all phases of development from design to manufacturing of custom mechanical systems for the semiconductor and various other industries.


* Support technical liaison responsibilities between the design (located in Waukegan, IL) and production teams (located in Buffalo Grove, IL).

Personal mileage reimbursement provided.


* Assist with testing products, ensuring quality designs and system performance.


* Leverage education and coursework to apply advanced theories, methods, ingenuity and research techniques to the investigation and solution of complex technical problems.
