Specialist, Continuous Improvement - Day Shift

Day Shift Monday - Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM

As the Specialist, Continuous Improvement, you are responsible for coordinating continuous process improvement within the site by facilitating the implementation, sustainment and advancement of the warehouse Lean business system through awareness and training.

You will execute specific lean & continuous improvement projects and train/guide members working in operations.

The Specialist, Continuous Improvement also documents lean activities and initiatives, organizes and prepares bi-weekly CI review presentations.

You will lead Gemba's, Kaizens and DMAIC initiatives.

What you'll do on a typical day:


* Support, administer and facilitate Lean implementation and continuous improvement activities including preliminary improvements and Kaizen events


* Conduct and lead GEMBA events.


* Interface with all levels of management regarding Lean-related proceedings; maintain applicable documents


* Advance level of Lean understanding and applications of principles throughout warehouse operations


* Facilitate Kaizen event meetings; ensure disciplined adherence to 7-step process


* Coordinate implementation efforts; communicate, garner support and ensure resource availability


* Provide necessary support during improvement activities


* Assist with development and completion of A3 writing/reporting


* Maintain report records and support documentation files

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:


* Background in logistics or related field or equivalent military experience


* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment

It'd be great if you also have:


* 1 year of experience providing overall direction, implementation and continuous improvement of logistics solutions


* Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and Kaizen facilitation


* Understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain management
