Senior R&D Manager

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


* Coordinate OCS R&D activities related to new product design, design review, prototype, key performance control,


* Work with chief designer, verify design concept and implementation feasibility, draft key optical component specifications


* Develop methodology for new product integration and manufacture


* Collaborate with engineering team and manufacture team for OCS performance improvements, manufacture failure analysis and efficiency improvement


* Work with suppliers for developing key optical components and LC assemblies, develop methodology for key component quality control and examination


* Lead Experimental investigation and trouble shooting regarding to the feedback of performance issue from production line


* Develop methodology for test and examination of key optical components, subassemblies, lead component quality control activities.

Education & Experience


* MS or higher degree in physics, optics.


* Minimum 10 years of related experience.

Skills


* Multidisciplinary background in optics, physics and materials science, electro-optics and liquid crystal technology experience is preferred.


* Strong knowledge and hand-on experience with development of optical module and devices in telecom industries.


* Team management experience in optical product development.


* Effectively managing multiple priorities and projects.


* Ability to supervise the work group.


* Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.


* Skill in optical simulation including ray tracing ( Zemax), EO of LC, polarization analysis, optical birefringence and physical optics and interference related


* Proficient computer skills, experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Email, internet access and the ability to develop tools and/or special applications within these packages,


* Python, C++ , parallel computing skill are prefered

Working Conditions


* May require occasional off-site meetings or travel


* Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary


* Interaction with team members and external contacts is a regular part of the job


* May require occasional overtime and flexibility in work hours to accommodate the executive's needs

Physical Requirements


* Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting meetings.


* Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.


* Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.


* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.


* Mobility within the office environment to attend meetings
