Newcastle upon Tyne – across several homelessness service locations.

Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw Monday to Friday, flexible working)

Salary circa £33,250 to £49,819 negotiable based on skills and experience plus great benefits including Health Cash Plan

We’re looking for a brilliant Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Newcastle Homelessness Supported Accommodation services.

We are responsible for the development of a Psychologically Informed Environment across our services.

We deliver a clinical, trauma informed support model to customers and deliver training and support to our support colleagues to help them develop the skills in this area.

We operate across Newcastle boundaries in a vary of settings which include both hostel accommodation and dispersed properties across the community.

We work with customers who have a range of complex needs, the main presentation being homelessness but also including health, including mental health, related issues, offending behaviour and addiction.

Our service enables customers to move from 24 hour supported accommodation to semi-independent supported accommodation in the community and then on to full independence.

Typical day as a Senior Occupational Therapist 


* You’ll lead on the assessment and management of arrange of complex occupational therapy needs, providing clinical advice to our colleagues on the day to day support customers need. 


* You’ll work closely with our support team to deliver personalised interventions and behaviour support plans


* You’ll identify where skills development is required so our customers can achieve their goals through everyday activities.


* You’ll support the development of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) within our services.

You bring  


* You’ll hold relevant professional qualifications including HCPC Occupational Therapist


* Experience of working with people who have complex needs including learning disabilities, mental health and autistic spectrum disorder.
