Subassembly Technician

Coherent is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Subassembly technician to support and maintain ion implantation equipment.

The job will start on source maintenance and rebuilding.

The ideal candidate will have experience performing preventative maintenance on implant tools, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring tool uptime.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


* Able to operate machinery required to refurbish ion implanter modules.


* Accurately document maintenance activities.


* Troubleshoot issues with vacuum systems, power supplies, and source related issues.


* Collaborate with other maintenance techs on tool related issues.


* Follow safety protocols and cleanroom procedures, including proper handling of hazardous gases, chemicals, and materials.

Education & Experience


* 2+ years of experience maintaining semiconductor equipment, ideally ion implantation tools.


* Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and vacuum systems.


* Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.


* Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment wearing full PPE.

ITAR/EAR and Other Requirements


* Must be a U.S.

Person as defined by ITAR (U.S.

Citizen, U.S.

Permanent Resident, or protected individual).


* Compliance with all applicable export control regulations.

Working Conditions


* 8-hour shift: 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday


* Comfortable in a clean room attire (bunny suit)

Physical Requirements


* Able to stand for the duration of the shift when needed


* Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Safety Requirements

All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corporate EHS standards.

This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job responsibilities.

Employee will have to pass a physical examination and get fitted for a SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus).
