Licensed Vocational Nurse II - Emergency Room Department - Day Shift

The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Emergency Room Department is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse II to join our team in Moreno Valley.

This position is designated for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with expertise in charge capture processes, revenue cycle operations, compliance requirements, and emergency department-specific billing practices.

This is NOT a bedside patient care role.

The most competitive candidates will have the following skills and abilities:


* Knowledge of medical billing and charging, with an emphasis on emergency department services.


* Awareness of overall emergency department operations.


* Familiarity with hospital compliance standards, including Medicare/Medicaid billing requirements.


* Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems for charge entry, reconciliation, and documentation review.


* Ability to review, audit, and reconcile records for accuracy in documentation and billing.

Additional Departmental Requirements:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications issued by the American Heart Association are required upon hire.

https://www.ruhealth.org/medical-center/medical-services/emergency-services• Provide nursing care to patients within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing; prepare patients for physicians, registered nurse, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, and care for patients during treatment; administer medications using subcutaneous, intramuscularly, intradermal, subdermal, and/or oral methods.

• Take temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure of patients as necessary; apply and change dressings and cares for wounds; may collect specimens for laboratory analysis; assist physicians, registered nurses, and mid-level providers in performing examinations, tests, respiratory care and other treatments including minor surgical procedures, PAP smears and colposcopies.

• Perform venipuncture, injections of medications including biological immunizations for pediatrics and adults, including the provision of Tuberculin skin tests, Coccidioidin skin tests, and Histoplasmin skin tests in the course of a tuberculosis control program.

• Perform documentation as required within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing, and established rules of charting; chart treatments and medications and maintain pertinent medical records; collect data from patients to ensure scheduling with appropriate services; maintain clinical records, reports and charge tickets; review charts to determine type of treatment the patient may require and assure proper clinic scheduling and continuity of care.
