IT Security Project Lead - IRS
Description & Requirements
We are seeking an IT Security Project Lead to join our team supporting our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client.
Position is remote in U.S.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the IRS-required Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI).
The MBI requires the selected candidate be a U.S.
Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green card) status for at least 3 years.
The MBI certification process will take 4 to 5+ months, unless the candidate already holds an active MBI, which may shorten the timeline.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with client/customer to create technical strategies and frameworks.
- Develop, implement and manage enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Provide expert knowledge, support and guidance to business and technology teams and facilitate the collaborative development of IT solutions.
- Recommend alternative technologies or improvements to enhance information systems to support organizational goals.
- Prepare milestone status reports and deliveries/presentations on the system concept to colleagues, subordinates, and end-user representatives.
Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Initiate, plan, document, manage and maintain technical projects.
- Lead and guide the work of technical staff and serve as the liaison between business and technical aspects of projects.
- Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
- Create, update, and manage high-quality project documentation including executive briefings and reports.
- Lead and guide the project teams on how to use Agile practices and principles
- Plan, coordinate and track onboarding of project staff (e.g., staffing plan, clearances, equipment)
- Plan, coordinate and monitor staff work schedules and leave
- Coordinate and track program/project deliverables and work products
- Plan and execute risk management activities
- Facilitate development of specifications for extremely complex computer network security/protection technologies for IRS information and network systems/applications.
- Provide technical leadership on the design, implementation and integration of IT systems.
- Facilitate the development of requirements, specifications, test plans, deployment and upgrade plans.
- Provide support for design, architecture, development, unit test, deployment, installation, configuration, integration, operation, and maintenance.
- Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with all IRS security requirements.
- Provide status reports, attend and facilitate meetings and take/distribute minutes
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required.
- 7-10 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
