Senior Mortgage Loan Associate

Location: Sioux Falls, SD
Shift: M-F 8am to 5PM
Job Schedule: Full-Time

About the Role
Ensure mortgage loans move efficiently through three of the following processes (based on business need): processing, closing, post-closing, and lock desk functions.

Responsibilities include verifying and preparing loan files, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, coordinate closing, and funding activities, and managing rate locks.

Job Duties and Responsibilities 


* Verify all information from the initial loan application with a third-party, collect relevant data, and update the loan origination system.


* Actively listening, communicate clearly, respectfully, and consistently with both internal and external customers.


* Prepare the closing disclosure, work with the title company to balance the final numbers and verify the funding amount.


* Work with internal teams to resolve outstanding conditions or deficiencies.


* Ensure all signed documents are received and properly executed.


* Review and process investor loan purchase.


* Maintain customer files with regulatory requirements and company policies.


* Identify and address any issues or discrepancies that arise during the processing of the loan application.


* Rate Lock Management, manage the locking of interest rates for mortgage loans.

Ensuring that rates are locked at the appropriate times to protect both the lender and First PREMIER Bank.


* Ensure compliance with investor and agency lock policies.


* Train, guide, support and advise co-workers throughout the mortgage department.

Skills and Qualifications


* Strong written and verbal communication.


* Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.


* Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage simultaneous high priority projects and tasks while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.


* Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail.


* Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with loan officers, underwriters, customers, investors, and management.


* Ability to take initiative and resolve issues in a timely manner.


* Ability to work independently, handle stress, exercise self-control, adhere to company policies, and procedures.


* Ability to build rapport and trust quickly with various stakeholders.


* Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field preferred.


* Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage required.


* A strong knowledge of mortgage lending processes and regulatory requirements required.
