Inventory Control Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Control:


* Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to meet production and customer demand.


* Perform data entry of FG until the transition to SAP EWM with barcode scanning system.


* Perform root-cause analysis on inventory variances and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.


* Lead physical inventory counts and cycle count programs, ensuring compliance with company and audit standards.


* Develop and enforce inventory control procedures to reduce waste, obsolescence, damage, and overstock.


* Manage inventory transactions in the ERP/MRP system and reconcile discrepancies.

Material Scheduling & Planning:


* Manage raw material releases with suppliers and carriers to achieve JIT delivery based on production requirements, sales orders, and forecasted demand.


* Monitor material usage efficiency, scrap rates, yield, and lead times to continuously improve planning accuracy.


* Support the production planner as needed to Optimize raw material consumption through effective planning of lot sizes, batch runs, and sequencing.

Systems & Reporting:


* Generate inventory and scheduling reports to support production planning, purchasing, and management review.


* Track KPIs such as inventory turns, material availability, and scheduling adherence.

Collaboration & Communication:


* Work cross-functionally with Production, supply chain, and Logistics to ensure smooth material flow.


* Support new product launches or engineering changes by updating inventory parameters and material plans.


* Participate in supply chain improvement projects, including automation, layout changes, or lean initiatives.

Qualifications:


* Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.


* APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) Preferred but not required.


* 3 years of experience in inventory control and/or material scheduling in a manufacturing or distribution environment.


* Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Infor etc.) and advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUPs).


* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.


* Understanding inventory planning concepts such as EOQ, safety stock, ABC analysis, and kanban.


* Excellent communication and cross-departmental collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:


* Experience in a make-to-order or make-to-stock manufacturing environment.


* Familiarity with lean manufacturing, JIT, and continuous improvement tools.


* Knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling best practices.


* Experience with barcode scanning systems or warehouse management systems (WMS).
