Licensed Vocational Nurse II - Behavioral Health - Riverside

The Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Behavioral Health Department is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse II to join the Quality Improvement - Outpatient (O/P) team in Riverside.

The Licensed Vocational Nurse will complete monitoring of program documentation and compliance to regulations and contracts for both department programs and contracted programs.

Will provide employee health services (PPD, Fit Tests, Flu Vaccines) for department staff both in the office and throughout the county.

Develops training material, research regulations, provides training and technical assistance to department medical staff, monitors medication rooms.

A valid California Driver's License is required and must be willing and able to drive throughout Riverside County.

Under supervision and direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician, performs nursing duties within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing in the care of patients.

Incumbents assigned to the LVN II class have one to three years of experience working as an LVN.

The most competitive candidates must have at least 1-year of clinical experience as a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) in behavioral health programs; mental health and/or substance abuse treatment.

Strong attention to detail and solid writing skills are also essential.

The LVN II is distinguished from the class of Nursing Assistant, Health Services Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant, in that a state license is required of incumbents and they perform a more highly skilled form of patient care.

9/80 - Monday to Thursday: from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm
8 hours: from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm - every other Friday.
