Job Description:
 

We are seeking a Sr.

R&D engineer/scientist to join our Sensor Systems team.  The Sr.

R&D Engineer – Sensor Systems will lead electromagnetic tracking sub-system (HW/SW) evaluation, including performance metrics, design verification, and intended use validation, for sensors and sensor systems embedded in robotic endoscopy products.  The position will work cross-functionally with instruments & accessories design engineers, capital hardware engineers, test engineers, reliability engineers, software engineers, system integration engineers, quality engineering, and clinical engineers.  The Sr R&D engineer – Sensor Systems will require a base of broad, multi-disciplinary experience.  For those disciplines not previously proficient, the candidate should be willing and driven to master in the position.

You will be responsible for:


* Analyze position-tracking systems for all attributes and considerations


* Design custom sensors for optimal fit, performance, reliability, yield, and cost


* Evaluate low-cost off-the-shelf sensors


* Analyze and lead efforts to solve sensor signal noise
