Commercial & Investment Bank Strategy, Vice President

In this role you will have the opportunity to lead a portfolio of strategic initiatives that address critical challenges to the firm.

As a Vice President on the Commercial & Investment Bank Strategy team, you will lead mission-critical projects, including but not limited to: assessing growth opportunities strategies - geographic, industry or product; putting together strategic roadmaps by identifying unmet or emerging client needs; refining client segmentation and/or client coverage models; understanding emerging trends or new entrants; assessing operating models, including redesign or automation; and supporting the creation of CEO-level executive communications.

Projects are typically team-based and include close collaboration with the Commercial & Investment Banking Operating Committee and senior executives.

The Head of Strategy is responsible for defining the overall strategic direction of the business, reports directly to the Commercial & Investment Banking CEO, and is a member of the Commercial & Investment Banking Operating Committee.

The Commercial & Investment Bank comprises Global Banking (combining the Commercial, Corporate, and Investment Bank), Payments, Markets, and Securities Services.

These businesses offer lending, payments, investment banking, market-making, financing, custody and securities products and services to a global base of corporate and institutional clients.

Job responsibilities:


* Lead initiatives/projects to resolve diverse problems identified by senior managers of the Corporate & Investment Bank


* Lead teams of 1-3 junior strategists to develop solutions in partnership with business leaders


* Develop "trusted advisor" relationships with multiple senior stakeholders


* Gather, synthesize, and creatively analyze data (e.g., financial modeling, valuation analysis) to provide insights, identify issues and arrive at recommendations


* Develop strategic presentations for both internal and external audiences


* Monitor industry trends and shares insightful reports and analyses with broader team and with senior executives


* Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues


* Create and/or contribute to an environment of collaboration and mutual responsibility


* Simultaneously work on multiple projects across the CIB organization

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:


* At least 6 years of experience from either a premier management consulting firm with experience as a Manager/Engagement Manager/Project Leader, or, investment banking (e.g., M&A, Coverage, Capital Markets) division with experience as a Manager


* Diverse strategic problem solving experience, such as leading multiple CEO/CFO level programs across the financial services sector
