Parts Programmer
Parts Programmer
Develop programs that will efficiently machine and process production parts on computerized numerically controlled machines to company/customer specifications.
Essential Functions and Activities:
* Analyzes job orders, drawings, blueprints, etc.
and performs the necessary calculations to determine the sequence of shaping operations.
* Selects cutting tools required to perform operations.
* Develops/modifies programs to control machining and processing of part and stores information on disk.
* Loads machine routings and set up and run times into MRP system (JDE).
* Ensures that machine programs operate correctly and that parts meet specifications.
* Supports and participates in Morgan Olson's PPS team efforts.
* Adheres to Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations, being customer-focused and supporting continuous improvement activities.
* Adheres to Safety policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma required, higher level education preferred
* Basic knowledge of computers and electronics and machine tool experience
* Good mechanical ability and must be able to work with minimal supervision
* High degree of accuracy
* Knowledge of Auto Cad and Microsoft Excel is required
* Ability to read and understand blueprints, knowledge of mathematics and use of active listening skills
* Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
