Shift: 8 hour shifts/2-3 times a week, 6pm-2am
Wage Range: $35-$45/hr

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Job Summary:
The LPN is responsible for directing the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern long-term care facilities.
This role ensures compliance with policies, supports quality assurance, and performs a wide range of clinical and administrative duties.
Essential Functions:
1.
Administrative Functions
* Supervise nursing assistants and ensure compliance with facility policies.
* Review and recommend updates to manuals and job descriptions.
* Coordinate shift services and maintain procedure manuals.
* Participate in surveys, discharge planning, and quality assurance.
* Handle admissions, discharges, reports, and census documentation.
2.
Charting and Documentation
* Maintain accurate and timely records for admissions, treatments, and incidents.
* Transcribe physician orders and ensure proper charting practices.
* Communicate discrepancies and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
3.
Drug Administration
* Administer medications per physician orders.
* Maintain medication records and manage inventory.
* Report discrepancies and ensure safe disposal of medications.
4.
Personnel Management
* Manage shift staffing.
5.
Nursing Care
* Oversee resident admissions and coordinate care with physicians.
* Administer treatments and monitor resident conditions.
* Support restorative and rehabilitative programs.
* Handle emergencies, post-mortem procedures, and family communications.
6.
Safety and Sanitation
* Enforce safety protocols and infection control procedures.
* Maintain clean and safe work environments.
* Participate in drills and hazard reporting.
7.
Equipment and Supplies
* Monitor and request necessary supplies and equipment.
* Ensure safe and efficient use of nursing equipment.
8.
Care Planning
* Review and update care plans.
* Ensure CNAs follow care plans and document accordingly.
* Assist with MDS and assessment coordination.
9.
Budget and Planning
* Report suspected fraud and support cost-effective practices.
11.
Miscellaneous
* Provide data for quality assurance and support administrative needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position carries administrative authority and accountability for assigned duties and staff supervision.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
* Nursing degree or graduate of an approved LPN program.
* Active, unencumbered state license.
Skills
* Strong communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
* Ability to manage stress and work with diverse populations.
* Knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and care standards.
Certifications
* Current LPN license.
* CPR certification.
* Point Click Care experience preferred.
