Job Title: Director of Staff Development (DSD)
Location: Arvin Post Acute - Arvin, California
Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000/year, Based on Experience
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Staff Development (DSD) to lead our employee training and development efforts.

This is a critical leadership role responsible for coordinating staff education, compliance, infection control, and onboarding at our skilled nursing facility.

Key Responsibilities:


* Oversee and coordinate all required in-service education programs and staff development activities


* Conduct needs assessments and implement education plans for nursing and facility staff


* Maintain in-service records per regulatory standards and prepare monthly/annual training calendars


* Ensure regulatory compliance in staff education, including Fire/Internal Disaster and Mass Casualty Drills


* Supervise staff and support disciplinary actions when appropriate


* Coordinate recruiting, onboarding, payroll, and benefit administration in collaboration with HR


* Make rounds to monitor care quality and provide direct patient care as needed


* Lead infection control and surveillance activities


* Participate in facility surveys, audits, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications:


* Current California RN or LVN license (RN preferred)


* Minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience in a long-term care setting


* At least 1 year of experience in planning and delivering staff education programs


* BSN preferred


* Knowledge of state and federal nursing facility regulations


* Familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred


* Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills


* CPR certification required

Physical Requirements:


* Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, and talking


* Ability to lift up to 75 lbs


* Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling


* Visual acuity for close and distance work

Work Environment:


* Typical skilled nursing facility environment


* Low to moderate noise levels


* Frequent interaction with residents, staff, and families
