Cost Analyst (Hybrid - Tallahassee, FL)

Description & Requirements

Maximus is currently seeking oriented Cost Analyst with strong analytical, problem solving, speaking and writing skills to provide cost accounting and cost analysis consulting services to local and state governments.

This is a hybrid position that will be primarily onsite.

It requires the selected individual to currently live, or be willing to relocate, within a commutable distance of our Tallahassee, FL office.

Candidates must be very organized and possess governmental financial analysis, cost allocation, cost accounting, cost recovery and indirect cost rate development experience.

Candidates must also possess understanding of governmental fund accounting, general accounting principles and concepts.

Candidates should be able to work independently and in a team environment.

Upon hire, additional training and development is provided which may lead to opportunities for professional growth/advancement.

This position will work to prepare cost allocation plans, conduct cost analyses and support cost recovery efforts for governmental and nonprofit clients.

Responsibilities will include interviewing client staff, gathering data, preparing calculations, preparing reports, participating in presentations and trainings, conducting research, reviewing regulations, develop staff and other project tasks as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver consulting project activities for medium to long-term engagements requiring varied interpersonal and technical skills.
- Maintain technical responsibilities, which include problem identification, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deployment.
- Analyze complex data and identify patterns, recommend actions, and measure outcomes.
- Conduct market research and understand and apply implications of Health and Human market trends.
- Create system functional specifications from business requirements.
- Identify additional product and service opportunities in customer organization.

- Support projects and initiatives by analyzing costs, processes and/or procedures for government agencies.

- Prepare cost allocation and cost of service studies for state and local governments.

- Produce high quality project deliverables that meet or exceed performance expectations including scope of work requirements, financial objectives (revenue and profit goals), and implementation time frames.

- Gather necessary client financial information (such as expenditure reports, revenue reports, billing invoices, budgets, time sheets, work orders, fixed asset reports, depreciation reports, contracts, and general ledgers).

- Analyze complex data to identify patterns, recommend actions and measure outcomes.

- Present findings verbally and/or in writing.

- Conduct research of existing and new state and federal regulations.
