ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position.

* Ensure the rooms are prepared for new admissions.


* Perform room rounds and ensure room meets homelike environment criteria


* Completes inventory checklist on all new admissions


* Create and place room name prior to resident arrival.


* Assists in passing out briefs and other supplies as assigned by nursing management


* Pick up food trays (Do not pass out trays or snacks)


* Put together a welcome basket and greet the resident upon arrival.


* Answer resident calls promptly.


* Visit, read, and provide activities to residents.


* Watch for and report any change in room temperature, ventilation, lighting, etc.


* Verify with nurse appropriate liquid/hydration method.

Keep residents' water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water (on each shift), and within easy reach of the resident.


* Verify with nurse appropriate liquid/hydration method.

Pass water and ice.


* Follow established policies concerning EBP.


* Assure that the residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and always maintained.



* Knock before entering a resident's room.
