Parts Room Supervisor

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this individual will support the management of the facility's maintenance parts inventory and preventive maintenance (PM) documentation.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Job supervises a team, has authority to hire and performance-manage a team.

• Job leads/supervises/manages 1-5 employees.

• Supervise the daily activities of the maintenance buyer and oversee the procurement of maintenance parts for the plant.

• Coordinate with management, vendors, and internal teams to manage the ordering, receiving, issuing, and returning of parts, supplies, and tools.

• Respond to inquiries from mechanics and vendors regarding part compatibility and availability.

• Organize and maintain the maintenance parts inventory, ensuring items are accurately labeled and properly stored.

• Physically store stock items in designated locations, including elevated shelving.

• Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of parts and supplies per system settings or direction from maintenance leadership.

• Add or remove inventory items and reorganize the parts room to reflect changes in plant equipment.

• Generate reports on inventory usage, stock shortages, and related costs.

• Create work schedules and preventive maintenance (PM) documentation using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS); ensure completed work is properly logged.

• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities within the CMMS.

• Ensure the parts room remain clean, organized, and functional.

• This role has the responsibility to understand and place appropriate safety procedures in practice.

This responsibility is achieved through education, training, and use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills:

• 1-3 years of experience in related field is preferred.

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and identify maintenance parts and supplies.

• Excellent organizational skills for cataloging and storing parts accurately and efficiently.

• Basic computer skills with the ability to learn and effectively use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Excel is a plus.

• Experience with SAP is preferred but not required.

Preferred Education:

• High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience is required.

Work Environment:

• Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor (may depend on the role).

• Work conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility.

• This role does not require any domestic travel
