Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Execute standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.

Write secure and high-quality code using the syntax of programming languages.

Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.

Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation.

Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems.

Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Data Engineer, Software Engineer, Programmer Analyst, Software Developer, IT Consultant or related occupation.

The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Data Engineer, Software Engineer, Programmer Analyst, Software Developer, IT Consultant or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Developing software or a Microservices environment that deploys as a REST API; Designing and building applications on AWS Cloud using Python, Lambda, SQS, SNS, STEP Function, S3, VPC, Gateways, IAM, Compute Services, Storage Services, and Security Services; Developing and provisioning a large scale, high performance serverless architecture platform; Building software to interact with enterprise data bus; Visualization tools; Developing software utilizing Spring and Spring Boot and Maven or Gradle to resolve application dependencies; Building applications that utilize JSON or XML formatted data files and service payloads for data transfer; Building applications using Docker and then building EKS clusters and deploying containers on PODs; Performing data manipulation, data structuring, data design flow, and query optimization using SQL and Python; Building Jenkins pipelines to build and deploy applications; Creating dashboards using Splunk or DataDog; Provisioning cloud infrastructure using Terraform Enterprise Server.
