In-Home Direct Support Professional Specialist

Title: In-Home Services Program Specialist

(Valid Driver's License and Vehicle to Use for Work-Related Tasks Required in this position.)

Location: Twin Cities Metro Area

Schedule: Monday-Friday with availability between the hours of 8:00AM and 8:00PM based on the needs of those we serve.

Occasional weekend scheduling possible based on the needs of the Program.

Wage: $20.00/hour including Full-Time benefits

Essential Job Duties:


* Support individuals with daily activities to achieve personalized outcomes in residential group homes.


* Focus on increasing independence in skills, such as learning about community resources, finding hobbies, and working on personal cares, meal preparation, planning, or budgeting.


* Administer medications and assist with daily personal care needs.


* Perform cooking, cleaning, and other housekeeping duties as needed.


* Assist individuals in achieving their personal goals and support them in their daily routines.


* Work with individuals displaying challenging behaviors, including verbal and physical aggression.


* Adapt to each person’s unique needs and preferences, tailoring services accordingly.


* Provide support in areas of communication, personal hygiene, and basic living skills.

Required Qualifications: 


* 21 years of age or older 


* Proficient in spoken and written English language


* Comfortable providing personal cares (including but not limited to: bathroom supports, bathing/showering, medication administration)


* Successful clearance of Department of Human Services background check


* Successful clearance of Motor Vehicle Background Check and acceptable driving record per Company Policy

Preferred Experience:


* At least 2 years supporting individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, and/or mental health diagnosis


* At least 2 years working with individuals with verbal and physical aggressions


* Experience implementing Emergency Use of Manuel Restraints (applicable at select programs)
