Engineering Manager - Paper and Secondary Fiber

The Georgia Pacific Projects and Engineering Team is seeking an Engineering Manager for our Paper and Secondary Fiber Team which is based in Green Bay, WI.

This position will have responsibility for a team of resources that executes strategic upgrades of paper machines and fiber systems across the country.

The ideal candidate is an individual who demonstrates strong leadership skills and has the desire and capability to develop others.

This role will report to the Paper and Secondary Fiber - Director of Project Management.

Our Team

The Georgia Pacific Projects and Engineering Team consists of roughly 200 individuals across the United States working with our 22 continuous manufacturing facilities on capital project execution.

We are engineers, project managers, subject matter experts, and designers focused on the delivery of capital projects and engineering solutions that support Georgia Pacific's manufacturing capabilities.

What You Will Do


* Identify and prioritize work assignments for the team through application of comparative advantage


* Provide mentoring and capability development for the team on capital project execution (BPP), facility operations, technical process knowledge and economic thinking


* Selectively lead projects where your subject matter expertise or leaderships skills provide a comparative advantage for the project portfolio


* Mentor project teams decision-making process for evaluating project alternatives, equipment and vendor partner selections, and contracting strategy evaluation to capture the highest value opportunities most efficiently.


* Actively engage with business, manufacturing and technology platform leadership to identify and prioritize the highest value projects.


* Recruit, onboard, coach, develop and integrate new team members into the existing organization.


* Develop your teams' knowledge and application of Principle Based Management

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Experience leading and developing a team


* At least 5 years project engineering or project management experience in a process manufacturing environment


* Experience with paper and/or secondary fiber operations


* Experience utilizing economic principles for decision making


* Experience developing proposals, reports and presentations to articulate ideas and seek alignment


* Ability to travel up to 35%

What Will Put You Ahead


* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, paper, etc)


* Experience with different project delivery models such as Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, IPD, EPC, etc.


* Direct operational experience in a tissue, paper or fiber manufacturing environment


* Supervisory experience leading highly effective teams and developing the capability of others


* Experience utilizing EcoSys, SAP, ACC and other engineering software platforms
