Public Works Inspector

Ardurra is looking to hire an experienced Public Works Inspector for our office in Oakdale, CA.

As the demand to improve municipal infrastructure increases we recognize the very diverse and unique needs of our municipal clients and we work closely alongside local, state, and federal regulatory agencies to find economical and environmentally balanced solutions.

Ardurra’s multi-disciplinary capabilities enable us to offer our clients a seamless team of planners, surveyors, scientists, and engineers for a more integrated and cost-effective project delivery.

Primary Function

The Public Works Inspector will play a vital role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of public infrastructure projects including streets, sidewalks, water/sewer lines, stormwater systems, and other city improvements and private projects for our local municipal clients (Escalon & Riverbank, CA) acting in their behalf.

Primary Duties


* Inspect construction and maintenance of public infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with city standards, plans, and specifications.


* Monitor contractor work, materials, and methods for conformance with contracts and regulatory requirements


* Document project progress, generate field reports, and maintain accurate inspection records


* Coordinate with engineers, contractors, utilities, and the public to resolve issues in the field


* Assist in reviewing plans and specifications for new developments and capital improvement projects


* Identify safety concerns or non-compliance and take corrective action when necessary


* Attend pre-construction meetings and contribute to project planning and scheduling

 

Education and Experience Requirements


* High School Diploma or equivalent; additional technical coursework in construction, civil engineering, or related field preferred


* Minimum 2-4 years of experience in construction inspection or public works projects


* Working knowledge of construction practices, public works standards, and applicable codes


* Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, maps, and specifications


* knowledge of municipal engineering, capital improvement planning, and public works operations


* Strong organizational skills, and ability to function efficiently within a project team environment


* Certifications such as ICC, ACI, or APWA Inspector Certification are a plus

 

Compensation Range – $30/hr to $35/hr DOE or Prevailing Wage, depending on assignment
