Meals on Wheels Food Prep and Driver

Pay Range DOE: $15.00 - $17.00/hour

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM.

40 hours per week. This is a temp-to-hire with the eligibility of full-time permanent placement.

This position is eligible for Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act.

JOB SUMMARY:

Goodwill Staffing is recruiting for our nonprofit partner that needs someone who has a heart for serving those in need by prepping ready-made meals and delivering them.

The candidate will need to have a clean driving record and heart for this mission.

The candidate will be offering nutritious meals, social engagement, and support services to eligible older adults.

The position does include some administrative support and assistance with daily food operations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

 The majority of the work takes place at the café site, with the remainder done in the kitchen or office.


*  Oversees daily cold production operations, including labeling, packing, organizing delivery routes, and monitoring food safety.


* Accurately portions and securely packs meals per dietary guidelines.


* Creates and applies proper labels, noting dietary needs and delivery info.


* Oversees and records congregate reservations and daily meal counts.


* Orders meals by the cutoff time, balancing demand and minimizing waste.


* Submits required monthly paperwork, including food rosters.


* Maintains sanitation of all food service areas and equipment.


* Monitors and logs food temperatures to meet safety standards.


* Follows department policies and procedures.


* Trains and supports volunteers in food service roles.


* Promotes a welcoming environment and models respectful behavior.


* Reports safety issues, member concerns, or incidents to management.


* Ensures fair, civil rights–compliant treatment of all diners.


* Travels to various congregate sites to support operations and provide coverage during staff absences.


* Performs other duties as assigned.

 

VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Regularly interacts, engages, and provides guidance to volunteers.


* Support volunteers and interns to coordinate and coach appropriate food safety standards.
