About the Role

Leads and coordinates activities in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, and in fabricating metal parts and tools.  The fundamental task is to maintain and improve the plant mechanical, electrical, and facilities infrastructure and provide direct supervision of technical maintenance associates. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


* Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.


* Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.


* Coordinates with other management staff to ensure efficiency in preventative maintenance and new equipment installation.


* Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. 


* Manages the maintenance team and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 


* Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.


* Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts.


* Modifies programming of robots and related equipment such as robot controllers and programmable controllers.


* Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.


* Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.


* Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.


* Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.


* Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.


* Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.


* Sources and oversees contracts and service providers for functions such as, cleaning, parking, security, and technology.
