Shipping Lead

Job Purpose
The Shipping Lead will oversee and manage the shipping and logistics processes, ensuring that products are shipped efficiently, accurately, and on time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead Efforts to Improve the Shipping Process


* Continuously evaluate and improve shipping procedures to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline operations, ultimately improving customer satisfaction.

Coordinate Shipping Operations


* Oversee daily shipping activities, including the preparation, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Manage Shipping Staff


* Supervise and train shipping department personnel, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, efficiency, and productivity standards.

Optimize Shipping Processes


* Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to increase operational efficiency.

Manage Shipping Supplies Inventory


* Oversee inventory levels of shipping supplies (e.g., boxes, pallets, tape, labels) to ensure adequate stock and prevent shortages.

Ensure Inventory Discrepancies Are Addressed


* Work closely with warehouse teams to identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies to maintain accurate stock records.

Coordinate with Carriers


* Establish and maintain relationships with shipping carriers to negotiate rates, resolve issues, and ensure reliable service.

Ensure Compliance


* Ensure all shipping activities comply with relevant regulations, including customs requirements and company policies.

Oversee Packaging Quality


* Ensure that packaging meets quality standards to protect goods during transit, minimize damage, and adhere to branding and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Preferred Education & Experience


* High school diploma required; some college or advanced/technical degrees are preferred.


* Experience in a shipping/receiving and/or quality role within an organization is preferred.
