Assistant Supervisor, Production

SUMMARY:

Work in conjunction with the Manager, Production to provide oversight of crews in the performance of track maintenance.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Establish a safety culture foundation based on compliance with GWI safety rules, regulations and environmental responsibilities


* Assist in planning, directing and managing daily activities of maintenance of way crew


* Provide training to employees that includes but is not limited to safety, and equipment operations and maintenance


* Enforce compliance with safety, and operational procedures


* Monitor and direct performance of subordinate employees


* Interface with others to ensure efficient and organized operations of the railroad along with the maintenance of the track


* Other duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


* Minium of 3 years of progressive leadership growth in railroad engineering preferred


* Understand and carry out oral and written communication both general and technical


* Experience in Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Etc.


* Field position with extensive travel required

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:


* High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience required.


* Must poses a valid driver’s license.
