Mech II Bender/Stacker 2nd shift

A shop hourly position with the primary responsibilities of performing the pipe bending and circuit stacking duties necessary to manufacture coils for closed circuit condensers, fluid coolers and ice chillers.  As an experienced mechanic, the Mechanic II has a high level of proficiency in the bending and stacking operation and is competent to work independently in the majority of functions.  The Mechanic II model’s BAC’s values of Earning Trust, Embracing Responsibility, Showing Courage, and Driving Innovation to co-workers and provide training to junior mechanics as assigned.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES


* Owns personal and team safety.

Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.



* Perform stacking duties which includes shearing tubing to size, stacking circuits on a coil fixture, and placing correct spacers and rods into coils.


* Set up the bending machine for the correct size circuits, which may be steel, stainless steel or finned.


* Perform daily equipment checks to ensure proper operation.


* Responsible for the daily and weekly sign-off of the primary maintenance procedure checklist for the pipe bender.


* Utilize overhead crane and JIB cranes to load and unload coils off the line.


* Meet or exceed production goals for shift.


* Help assist and train junior mechanics.


* Alternate between the pipe bender and circuit stacker positions routinely each day.


* Continuously grow skills and expertise in order to flex to the maximum number of workstations


* Follow instructions and adhere to ISO policies and procedures.


* Maintains and sustain 5’s in the department.


* Committed to achieving departmental safety goals.


* Knowledgeable of and meets quality standards on a consistent basis.



* Fulfill the role of MI senior mechanic in his or her absence


* Perform other duties as requested, directed and assigned.

NATURE & SCOPE

 

Reports to Team Leader of the Coil Department.  Work is primarily related to home department, but may be flexed to other departments as order demand dictates.  May be assigned the training and mentoring of junior mechanics.
