Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Manage and coordinate quality assurance efforts to ensure that the products and services Altec provides are suitable for purpose and meet both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.
Coordinates the activities required to meet quality standards.
This position will report directly to the General Manager.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manages the staffing process, such as scheduling and hiring to ensure levels are sufficient; holds associates accountable for work quality and performance and manages this performance by developing and communicating excellent standards of production and service
• Directs the compliance of staff with administrative policies and procedures; directs training programs to ensure understanding and compliance
• Devise and establish Altec's quality procedures, standards and specifications
• Review customer requirements and ensure they are met
• Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
• Set standards for product quality as well as health and safety
• Ensure the manufacturing processes meet international and national standards
• Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures
• Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports
• Prepare clear explanatory documents such as customer feedback and expectations
• Integrate a quality culture into every associates job
• Manage training programs to ensure understanding and compliance of Altec standards
• Interact with customers as needed to represent the Mount Airy quality group
Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's Degree required, Engineering preferred
• Three years applicable leadership experience required, Altec leadership experience preferred
• Current valid Driver's License
• Microsoft Office Suite and other management applications required
• Mechanical aptitude, product or industry knowledge required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Two years supervisor experience preferred
